The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a paradise of natural beauty nestled in one of the busiest cities on Earth. On our visit the sweltering summer heat almost kept us from the Tropical House. I’m so glad we didn’t let the humidity deter us. The lushness of the tropical blooms, including orchids, transported us to the low latitudes. The largest lily pads I’ve ever seen made the dark water of the central pool appear cool and refreshing.
